As an innovator and pioneer in Canadian art, Margaret Dragu has worked in video, installation, web/analog publication & performance art. Spanning relational, durational, interventionist, and community-based practices, she has shown in Canada, USA & Europe.
She was the recipient of the Governor General’s Award for Visual and Media Arts in 2012, Éminence Grise (2012) for 7a*11d, and, in 2000, the first artist in FADO's (FADO Performance Inc. - Performance Art Centre) publication series Canadian Performance Art Legends. Margaret Dragu is celebrating her 50th year as a working artist. Her favorite art-making material is still the body despite or because of her bionic status as a grateful owner of two recent hip replacements.

Als Innovatorin und Pionierin der kanadischen Kunst arbeitet Margaret Dragu in den Bereichen Video, Installation, Web-/analoge Veröffentlichung und Performancekunst. Ihre Arbeiten umfassen Kontext abhängige, langzeit, interventionistische und gemeinschaftsbasierte Praktiken, die sie bisher in Kanada, den USA und Europa gezeigt hat.
Sie erhielt 2012 den Governor General's Award for Visual and Media Arts, Éminence Grise (2012) für 7a*11d, und war 2000 die erste Künstlerin in der Publikationsreihe vom FADO (FADO Performance Inc. - Performance Art Centre) Kanadische Legenden der Performance-Kunst. Margaret Dragu feiert ihr 50-jähriges Jubiläum als praktizierende Künstlerin. Trotz oder gerade wegen ihres bionischen Status als dankbare Besitzerin von zwei Hüftprothesen ist ihr liebstes künstlerisches Material immer noch der Körper.
