Die 1979 geborene belgische Performance-Künstlerin Alice De Visscher lebt und arbeitet in Brüssel. Nach ihrem Theaterstudium konzentrierte sie sich anfangs noch ganz auf das Genre des visuellen und experimentelles Theaters. Seit 2006 beschäftigt sich die Künstlerin aber voll und ganz mit visueller Performance und Video-Kunst. Bisher waren ihre bildnerischen Arbeiten in Frankreich, Deutschland, Österreich, der Schweiz, Singapur, Thailand, Kanada und Belgien zu sehen.
In ihrer künstlerischen Arbeit konzentriert sich De Visscher auf das Bild ihres Körpers, die Struktur des Raumes und die Eigenschaften des Materials. “Ich suche ungewöhnliche, recht minimale Aktionen, die die Interpretation des Publikums anregen.” Dabei folgt sie ihrer Intuition und verbindet diese mit Mitteln der Bildenden Kunst auf ihre ganz eigene Art und Weise. Für sie ist das die zurzeit wahrscheinlich einzige Möglichkeit, jetzt in dieser Welt zu leben.
De Visscher ist Mitglied des Aktionslabors PAErsche, das sich 2010 gründet hat und von etwa 30 Künstlerinnen und Künstlern aus den Regionen Rheinland und Ruhrgebiet und Nachbarländern wie Belgien, Niederlande und Österreich getragen wird. PAErsche will weder feste Gruppe noch Ensemble sein. PAErsche ist nomadisch, es verfügt über keinen festen Standort. Das schwebende Gravitationszentrum dieses “Open Source Netzwerks” befindet sich in Köln. Die Vernetzung mit anderen Regionen und deren Organisationen und Auftrittsorten ist fließend, wird stetig verändert und erweitert. Basis dieser Kooperation ist einerseits die spezifische Arbeitsmethode des Aktionslabors und andererseits die künstlerische und kulturelle Begegnung. Genauso agieren Vertreterinnen und Vertreter des Aktionslabors als Botschafter. Hierbei werden Methoden und Strategien durch die Mittel der Performance-Kunst kommuniziert und ausgetauscht.

Belgian performance artist Alice De Visscher, born in 1979, lives and works in Brussels. After studying theatre, she initially concentrated entirely on the genre of visual and experimental theatre. Since 2006, however, the artist has been dealing fully with visual performance and video art. Her visual work has been shown in France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Singapore, Thailand, Canada and Belgium.
In her artistic work, De Visscher concentrates on the image of her body, the structure of the room and the properties of the material. "I am looking for unusual, very minimal actions that stimulate the interpretation of the audience." In doing so, she follows her intuition and combines it with visual arts in her very own way. For them, this is probably the only way to live in this world right now.
De Visscher is a member of the Porsche action laboratory, which was founded in 2010 and is supported by around 30 artists from the Rhineland and Ruhr region and neighbouring countries such as Belgium, the Netherlands and Austria. PAErsche does not want to be a permanent group or an ensemble. PAErsche is nomadic, it has no fixed location. The floating gravitational centre of this “open source network” is located in Cologne. Networking with other regions and their organizations and venues are fluid, is constantly changing and expanding. This cooperation is based on the one hand on the specific working method of the action laboratory and on the other hand on the artistic and cultural encounter. Representatives of the action laboratory act as ambassadors in exactly the same way. Here methods and strategies are communicated and exchanged by means of performance art.
