Ani Zur ist eine ukrainische Künstlerin mit Sitz in Kiew. In ihrer künstlerischen Praxis gibt es Performance- und Aktionskunst sowie Fotografie und Video. In ihren Arbeiten konzentriert sich Ani auf die Qualität der Präsenz, da Live-Kunst sie am ehesten dem physischen und mentalen Erleben der Situation, des Themas, des Problems oder des Konflikts annähert. Ein bestimmtes, in der Performance geschaffenes Energiefeld lässt den Betrachter nicht nur zum Beobachter werden, sondern zum "Erleben". Es ist eine Begegnung von zwei Akteuren und der Zusammenbruch der Illusionen der Sicherheit. Zuschauer werden oft provoziert, sich zu zeigen und ihre Essenz auszudrücken. Die Künstlerin wird Zeugin dieser Erfahrungen, die ihr ein Gefühl der bedingungslosen menschlichen Intimität geben. In ihren Projekten reflektiert Ani die Themen Geschichte und Vergangenheit, Erinnerung und deren Unannehmlichkeiten, Unterdrückung und Täuschung, Besatzung und Freiheit, Konflikte und Grenzen, Geschlechterstereotype und sozialer Druck. Die Bilder, die sie erzeugt, sind oft so rau und stumpf wie zerbrechlich und schmerzhaft.

Ani Zur is a Ukrainian artist based in Kiev. Among her artistic practice, there is performance and action art as well as photography and video. In her works, Ani focuses on the quality of presence as live art most closely approximates her to the physical and mental experiencing the situation, topic, problem or conflict. A certain energy field created in performance make the viewer become not just an observer, but a participant of "experiencing." It is a meeting of two nudes and the collapse of the illusions of safety and security. Viewers are often provoked to show themselves, express their essence. The artist becomes a witness of their experiences that gives her a feeling of unconditional human intimacy. In her projects, Ani reflects on the issues of history and past, memory and the inconvenience thereof, the oppression and deception, occupation and liberty, conflict and borders, gender stereotypes and social pressure. The visuals that she creates are as often harsh and blunt as they are fragile and painful.
